There are two major shipping lines to New Zealand. Both lines have a weekly service from Shenzhen to Australia and New Zealand. Loading closes on Wednesdays and ships depart Fridays. Sailing time is from 16-24 days.
K Line (Japanese) departs Shenzhen to east coast Australia calling at Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
MISC (Malaysian) departs Shenzhen via Singapore to east coast Australia calling at Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.
MISC (Malaysian) departs Shenzhen via Singapore to New Zealand ports Auckland, Tauranga and Wellington.
The main International Airport is in Hong Kong but Macau, Shenzhen and Guangzhou have regular flights to Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Beijing. These flights are mostly second tier. For further information visit:
Travelling to Hong Kong does not require a visa but visitors must have an outbound ticket. Travelling to Shenzhen via metro rail from Hong Kong takes approximately 1 hour. A 5 day Chinese visa can be obtained at the CTS office at the Hong Kong/China border. This can take approximately 1-2 hours with a cost of $150 AUD.
